Over this past Labor Day weekend, my partner and I attended a wedding in Sevierville, Tennessee. We enjoyed the green meadows, the many rivers, and the Great Smoky Mountains with its coves and hollows. Driving through Great Smoky Mountains National Park, we spotted a couple of black bears.
Looking to continue bringing the urban and the wild together.
Thinking on the 1971 song "Peace Train" by Yusuf Islam, the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens. Songs are like prayers. “Now I’ve been crying lately/ Thinkin’ about the world as it is/ Why must we go on hating?/ Why can’t we live in bliss?/ ‘Cause out on the edge of darkness/ There rides a peace train/ Oh, peace train take this country/ Come take me home again” May we remember one another. May we hold it together.
